Waiting out the storm.

It is almost noon, and thankfully things have been pretty uneventful around here. Hopefully the power will stay on. According to the Hartford Courant, Irene has been downgraded to a tropical storm, and there are about half a million people in Connecticut without power. (Follow that link for more local news and images.) The shoreline got hit a bit harder than us inland, and there are reports of trees down and flooded areas everyplace.

There were some heavy gusts about an hour ago, but they seem to have calmed down. The rain just keeps coming. Hopefully none of the trees around us will topple from the saturation of the ground. On the positive side, Rowan hasn't even bothered to try to convince me to take her outside today.

In the meantime, we wait.

Ashke: Hey, as long as the cat food keeps coming on demand, I'm happy.
Rowan: You realize you are disturbing my nap.
Chandler: Bored, bored, bored. What happened to my walk this morning?
